In-Car Navigation System And 2 Backup Cams In A 2014 Dodge Ram | A dashboard nav system | Carphonix car audio video alarms electronics accessories remote starters installation repair London Ontario

Welcome back guys, another lovely day here at Carphonix with your old pal Gatlin!

Today we’re working on a cool car electronics installation in 2014 Dodge Ram pickup, installing a navigation unit, a backup camera, and a trailer hitch camera.

Hoo boy!

So what does all that take?

Well, the truck is pretty basic overall. Because there aren’t any steering wheel controls, we won’t need to worry about wiring them into the system, which sure does make my life a lot easier.

For this install, we’ll be using:

  • Kenwood CMOS-230 Camera
  • Kenwood eXcelon DNX693S GPS navigation system
  • Rostra Rearsight Tailgate Latch Handle with a built-in camera
  • AXXESS XSVI-6523-NAV data module
  • All the usual wires, crimps, and other junk

Cheap Car Electronics Gear SUCKS!

Now, there’s lots of cheap car electronics gear out there. And after we tell you our price, you might go to Amazon or Ebay and think “wow, I can get this for 20 bucks! These Carphonix guys are ripping me off!”

But here’s the thing. In car audio world and in camera world, you really get what you pay for. I can’t tell you how many people I’ve seen come to us with a botched job with cheap audio equipment. You’re kind of rolling the dice there.

You might get a good deal with a nice piece of equipment, but you’re more likely to end up with a total piece of garbage that:

  • Doesn’t work at all
  • Wasn’t designed for your vehicle model
  • Got banged up because the random guy you bought it off didn’t package it properly and shipped it from the other side of the world
  • Breaks down within a couple of weeks

If you want to make sure it’s done right the first time, we’ll get you going.
